Boards, planks, and panels are some of the names given to the same object: a wide piece of wood that can be used in a variety of ways. The first thing most people think of when they hear these terms is household items like a door or a table, others think of construction materials. At CEPSA we offer plank timber for sale in Panama.
The wood is used for construction, furniture and decoration. During the construction process of houses and other buildings it is used to support heavy structures, to guide the placement of cement or concrete, and on some occasions, it is used as part of the final structure such as doors and windows.
The wood can also be used to make furniture such as tables, chairs, beds, and cabinets. It can be used for decoration to make picture frames or sculptures, among many other objects that can be created with tables.
Versatile and sustainable
Environmental sustainability is a worldwide concern, which is why wood has become one of the most widely used renewable materials today.
As a tree grows it absorbs carbon dioxide, helping to clean the atmosphere. When felled, dozens of boards can be obtained from this, these are recyclable products that adapt to the needs of different types of industries.
Unlike other building materials like concrete and steel, wood is renewable. It can be grown and harvested multiple times. In addition, wood waste can be recycled and transformed into new products and with the development of innovative designs and new ways of handling, the use of materials can be optimized to reduce waste.
The planks that we produce at CEPSA come from well-managed forests to eliminate the risk of deforestation, we create a good sustainable source that complies with the strict environmental policies of Panama and with the recommendations of experts from the timber industry worldwide.
In a tree plantation there are different species that have different maturation times. While in one sector there are young trees that are 18 years old, in another sector there may be trees that are 10 years old and are ready to be processed. It all depends on the species and its growth cycle.
We know the needs of the forest, which is why we pay attention to the periods of growth and maturation of the trees in our plantation. For example, to cut down a teak tree, we must expect it to grow between 20 and 25 years. During this time, our job is to make sure that have all possible conditions to grow strong and healthy to be able to offer the best plank timber for sale in Panama.
